foot stones?

Maybe not quite milestones, but took these to remember 2 changes in the girls recently.

A first lost top tooth – so the biggest gaping space in the mouth yet.  She’d been waiting on this one for a while:

This one is still waiting on the hair to come in…  it looks quite… interesting, when she wakes up in the morning.  (Or any time of day it’s let free, as seen here:)

But there is finally enough to wrangle it into the double pony!  And then she suddenly looks less like a baby.  A dark one from her dinner…

I have more to post, but more work to do first!  Just a quick brake in between the real sessions.  🙂

a 1 year old boy

On a cold and windy February day, I completed this little man’s first year series.  I’ve seen him at 3 months, 6 months, and 9 months old, and now I’m going to miss seeing him change this coming year!   Maybe we’ll update when he’s 2 – there were a lot of changes this year, but there’s a lot more before the 2nd year hits as well.  Oh, 2 year olds…  Mr. & Mrs. parents of W – get ready for that.  🙂

Here’s a quick look back from May, August, November, and then on to February.

Happy birthday, little man!

Still a beautiful, happy boy.

[…] the cold and the wind cut short our cupcake tasting on this day, we tried again!  I think he liked it. […]

meeting J

It’s been 10 months since I posted some photos of this family.  I spent another fun evening with them recently, but these last months have brought some change: there’s still some tree climbing, but the little guy is spending less time with the bunnies and more time scampering everywhere (and doing some climbing of his own), and now there’s a new little man added to the fold!

How handsome are these fellas??

Have I totally lost perpsective? I’m trying to be neutral, but I think those are the cutest boys that have ever walked the earth!! Is it because they are my nephews or am I right…?

I think you’re right!!

baby J

Went to visit a friend and meet her 12-day-old son!  Know what it’s like to arrive at the home of a new mom and find them looking ten times better than you do?  Yeah.  I do.

Took a few shots of the new family of 4 – or should I say 5?  We can’t leave out the dog!  Look at this puppy – trying to snuggle up and get some love!

And then I wanted to get some of the new man, and it got very dark and rainy.  We were completely without light – and light is a photo’s best friend.  So I hope you don’t mind being treated to several feet shots!  Little baby feet.

Oh – and I can’t leave without a note on big sister.  SO sweet and so proud and loving.  Not to mention amazingly calm and composed for a 2-year-old.  She stayed as close as possible to baby as she could, before finally conking out on the sofa.

signs of spring

After a number or gray days, we had a February spring day yesterday – and now it’s back to rain and more rain.  But I was amazed at how wonderful it felt outside yesterday.  The birds were singing, the sun was out – and so were the people.  I didn’t get to get out in it until after work, and quickly wished I had spent more of the day outdoors, and less of the day sitting in a chair.

It still mostly looks like winter, but there’s color to be found out there, too.

Being out took me back to some of the lazy days of last summer.  I’m not sure why, exactly… because it was much more pleasant yesterday than it is in Georgia during July and August…   I guess it just reminded me that more time outside is coming.  And I’m looking forward to it.  It’s hard to believe how many months have passed since we were in the heat last summer.  But then again if I look at the difference in the 1-year-old here, the past looks distant.
