I’ve been enjoying a summer visit from my sister and her two girls, a 6-year-old who would like to be a teenager, and a 1-year-old who just wants to toddle around unsteadily and eat everything in sight.
I was just looking back at the past few days…

Sara Beth was excited about having a sister – one of the pluses being that they could dress alike and look like “twins”. I’m not sure that the enthusiasm for matching clothes will last much longer, so I documented this last night just as it was getting dark…
(In the middle one she’s saying, “This is hopeless.” Because, you know, 1-year-olds don’t always want to stay in one place and look where she tells them to.)
There’s an inverse tooth situation going on here:
When I visited in April for the birthdays, she sat with her feet crossed and her hands clasped and her cheeks sucked in at all times. I loved it and it’s already going away! The ankles still cross sometimes though… her poor little eczema ankles…
