My nieces were born 5 years and 2 days apart, which makes a perfect excuse to make the flight to see them in mid-April. 2 birthday parties at once! I’m so very behind in going through personal photos, but am going to post just a few while they’re still fresh.
The oldest wanted a tea party for her 6th birthday. There were 6 little girls and dresses and white gloves, quietly sipping pink lemonade around the table, like tiny old ladies. Soon the sugar kicked in, and they were all squeals and group hugs and falling over in laughter together.
One of the activities was hat decorating. Here’s the birthday girl with a friend, trying out the pink hat versus the white hat, and deciding which they preferred. (All 6 chose pink.)
And here’s a shot of the table. She was all about the appropriate placement of the pinky finger while drinking her “tea”.
Little sister wasn’t quite so aware of her 1st birthday, and went about her day as usual. Starting with her morning routine of hiding behind the curtains.
She did really take to the cake, though. Didn’t stop trying to get it into her mouth until they took it away.
That’s all for now! These will have to wait until I’m all caught up, and then I can more thoroughly remember my few days with the girls.
